Professor Chen Chen received the NHMRC-NSFC joint grant

Professor Chen Chen at UQ received the NHMRC-NSFC joint grant to study Biomarkers for the treatment and prognosis of sight-threatening diabetic retinopathy for 5 years.

In 2013, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) of Australia signed a Letter of Agreement of general cooperation to promote and encourage research and development activities amongst researchers from China and Australia. The two funding organisations will work together on health and medical research issues of mutual interest.

NSFC is a public institution in charge of managing the National Natural Science Fund of China under the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. NSFC plays a leading role in supporting researchers and research projects in the natural sciences, as well as promoting advances in science and technology and coordinates economic and social development, in accordance with the Chinese Government’s guiding principles, policies and plans for the national development of science and technology.
