An Australia’s First: JCU-Huawei Internet of Things (IoT) Laboratory Launched at James Cook University
Following the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed at the Australia-China Science, Technology, Commercialisation & Innovation Forum on 28 November 2016, James Cook University (JCU) and Huawei Technologies launched Australia’s first Narrow-Band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) laboratory at JCU’s Cairns Campus on 20 February 2017.
As the first international standard in IoT technology, NB-IoT is a cutting–edge IoT solution based on the cellular communication system. IoT technology can be utilised in every aspect of our daily life, including Smart Parking, Smart Metering, Smart Logistics etc.
This strategic partnership between JCU and Huawei will push forward the research of IoT in Australia.
