2019 QCASE Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration and Dinner Event

2019 Queensland Chinese Association of Scientists and Engineers (QCASE) Mid-Autumn Festival Dinner Event was held in Golden Lane Chinese Restaurant on the 15 September. The 150 QCASE members and their family members attended the event. Special guests including Consul General Dr Xu Jie and his wife Consul Cao Ailan, Deputy Consul General Zhou Li, and Science and Technology Consul Chen Dechun from Consulate-General Of The People’s Republic Of China in Brisbane were invited to attend the dinner event. The dean of School of Environment and Sciences, Griffith University Professor George Mellick and Chinese United Council Secretory in General Mr Lianze Ma also attended the event.

The event commenced with a group photo, followed by speech by president of the QCASE, Dr Jing Sun who has introduced latest achievements that QCASE members have achieved and recent events. She has also introduced the activity plan of the QCASE in the next two years. Professor Jing Sun initiated a choral singing, and consul General Dr Xu Jie and his wife sang “Today is your birthday, my China” together with all QCASE members to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and celebrate the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. Consul General Xu Jie gave everyone a holiday greeting and to wish every member to have a happy festival. He also sent his best wishes to QCASE continue to make contribution to facilitate Australia-China collaboration in Research, Teaching and student exchange programs. The festival has arranged a variety of cultural and music programs including couplets, guessing riddles, solo singing, chorus singing, instrumental solo, etc., which was full of joy, peace and warmth. The party ended successfully at 9:30 in the evening.
